The Candidasis Diet

candida-dietIf you suffer from a yeast infection, then sugar is taboo. Sugar is exactly what a yeast infections thrives on. The bad part about that is that sugar is found in so many different things. Sugar will be found in your food and in the alcohol you drink.

Label readers will know how much sugar is in their food, so be one. Get used to doing it, and do it until it becomes a habit. Discipline yourself to stay aware of your diet intake. You can train yourself to pick the foods with less sugar and become a healthy eater.

Depriving the Candida of its sugar slows down its growth. And while starving your Candida you are also eating in a way that promotes better overall health. A lot of dieters begin well, only to fall back into old habits after making progress at the first. Steer yourself more towards the vegetable cart, and leave the sweets alone.

It shouldn’t be long after you cut out the sugars that you begin to feel better. But you’re not off the hood just because you’re feeling better. Candida will crave the sugar it’s missing, and will cause you to crave it too. So fighting to resist the impulse to grab something sweet is going to be an ongoing thing.

Eat things like cauliflower, green peppers, lettuce, spinach, garlic, green beans, kale, and cabbage. Stay away from the alcohol, dairy products, and processed foods. Natural yogurts are ok, and low amounts of cottage cheese.

The vegetable mentioned above are low-carb. You can still eat the high-carb foods, only you need to eat less of them. These are potatoes, beans, and carrots. Sugar from fruits can only be avoided by not eating them. If eating fruits, stick with the ones with the lowest sugar content. Some of these are blackberries, strawberries, apples, pears, peaches, and melons. Small intake is the key here.

It takes time to implement a change in eating habits, and as many find out, it may take more than one attempt. So if you fail at any point, instead of getting discouraged, be encouraged by the fact that you made it that far, and try to do even better next time. A ‘no give up’ attitude is necessary and invaluable.

At its best this diet is no picnic. Be determined. Be willful. But if you are tired of suffering from the Candida, this is the way to put an end to it. Give yourself the best chance possible to succeed in your pursuit of getting rid of Candida.
